These Terms of Service govern the provision of carpentry and joinery services by CM Carpentry Services, a sole trader business operated by Callum Milne, based in Rutland. By requesting a quote or instructing us to carry out work, you agree to these terms.
If you have any questions, please contact us before work begins:
All quotes provided by CM Carpentry Services are free and carry no obligation. Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.
Quotes are based on the information provided at the time of enquiry. If the scope of work changes, or if unforeseen issues arise during the job (such as hidden damage or structural problems), we will inform you promptly and agree any revised costs before proceeding.
A contract is formed when you confirm in writing (by email, text, or message) that you wish to proceed with the quoted work. At this point, we will agree a start date and any deposit requirements with you.
For larger projects, we may request a deposit of up to 30% of the total quoted price before work begins. This covers the cost of materials ordered specifically for your job.
Payment for completed work is due within 7 days of completion unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept bank transfer and cash. Invoices will be provided for all work carried out.
Late payments may incur interest in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
Unless otherwise agreed, CM Carpentry Services will supply all materials required for the job. Materials are sourced from reputable suppliers and are included in the quoted price unless stated otherwise.
If you supply your own materials, we cannot be held responsible for defects, delays, or additional costs arising from unsuitable or faulty materials.
You agree to provide safe and reasonable access to the work area at the agreed times. If access is delayed or unavailable, we reserve the right to reschedule and may charge for wasted time at our standard day rate.
We will take reasonable care to protect your property and will tidy up at the end of each working day. We are not responsible for pre-existing damage or issues unrelated to our work.
If you need to cancel or postpone agreed work, please give us as much notice as possible. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice may result in a charge to cover lost time and any materials already ordered.
If you wish to change the scope of work after a quote has been accepted, we will provide a revised quote for the additional work before proceeding.
We stand behind the quality of our work. If you are not satisfied with any aspect of the completed job, please contact us within 14 days of completion and we will return to assess and rectify any genuine defects at no additional charge.
This guarantee does not cover damage caused by misuse, third-party interference, or normal wear and tear after completion.
CM Carpentry Services holds full public liability insurance. Details are available on request.
Our liability to you in connection with any work carried out is limited to the value of the contract for that work. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses arising from delays or defects beyond our reasonable control.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. The terms in place at the time you accept a quote will apply to that contract.
